Some individuals might need to count and adjust specific macronutrients, such as those with type 1 diabetes.Though they're needed in small quantities in the diet, they're still vital for health. Focusing solely on macronutrients may cause some to overlook the importance of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals).Precise calculations are required in order to track macros, which can be both time-consuming and frustrating, and may contribute to disordered eating behaviours. The idea behind the macro diet is pretty simple: Instead of staying under a calorie threshold, you focus on getting a certain number (typically grams) of macronutrientsprotein, carbohydrates. So, now lets calculate YOUR personal macronutrient goals and set some daily levels to hit every day to assist you in your training and weight loss/gain. Macros don’t matter as much as how many calories for weight loss. However, there are also challenges with the macro diet that mean it may not be suitable for everyone: The macro diet does offer some flexibility and freedom for people to eat any food they wish if it matches up to their macronutrient ratio and daily energy requirements. The company also includes a heavy-duty ball mount that looks like it was designed to support a fixture weighing 10x as much. Having eye holes increases your mounting options and allows you to use a simple piece of string or rope to attach the light. The only thing I would have liked to have seen included on the DP Lumi lights is eye holes on the corners. For travelling shooters, this versatility is what makes flexible LED panel lights such a compelling option. This is nice if you want to use the light as a sort of china ball or to evenly illuminate two people in a sit-down interview scenario. One of the clever things DP Lumi has done when designing the light is put velcro on one edge so you can fold the light around and secure it so it forms a circle. It really does seem like a more robust professional solution that has been designed to stand up to the rigours of field use. The light is really well made and the materials used are a lot better than most other flexible LED lights I have seen. These may sound like small things, but they make a big difference when you are using the light. The connectors are well made, the cables are nice and long, and there is even a nice piece of velcro that enables you to safely secure the power connector that goes from the dimmer/ power supply box to the light. It does, however, fit in the included bag that DP Lumi gives you, but if you choose not to use that bag you may well find it hard to transport.ĭP Lumi has paid a lot of attention to detail. The only trouble with the mounting bracket for the 1×3 is that it’s long and it won’t fit in a lot of bags. In a nice touch, there are clips on the end that allow you to securely attach the bracket to the light, so it won’t move or fall off. It’s also bent in several places so it keeps your light more rigid and flat when it’s attached to the bracket. The mounting bracket DP Lumi uses is perhaps a little heavier than what you may be used to. Look I get it, I know you need some sort of frame to be able to put a flexible LED light on a light stand but why does it have to be so hard to make a decent one?ĭP Lumi hasn’t made a radical departure from using mounting brackets, but at least they have made one that is a little quicker and easier to set up and attach. Often these mounting brackets had to be assembled from multiple pieces and in some cases, they ended up breaking within the first few weeks. Speaking of mounting frames, the amount of badly thought out ones I have used in the past from other manufacturers helped me overflow the swear jar on many occasions. Appearance wise the only real difference is the clips on the back of the fixture that secure the mounting frame. Build quality and Mounting bracketĭP Lumi’s lights don’t really look any different from any other flexible LED panel light you may have seen before. Well, what if you could? I wanted to find out if DP Lumi’s fixtures could in some way address the complaints I have with flexible LED lights. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too. The beauty of flexible LED lights is that they are lightweight and extremely versatile, the downsides are that the power output is limited and they often take a lot of time to set up. The dilemma for me when using flexible LED is the compromise you have to make. I have been using flexible panel lights for a long time, but recently I have shied away from them in favour of more powerful and quicker to use LED lights. One of the latest flexible LED light companies is DP Lumi who are making 1×1 and 1×3 sized panels.įor this review, I’m going to focus on the companies 1×3 Bi-color light that is colour adjustable between 3200-5600k.įlexible panel lights are not a new concept, companies such as Westcott and Aladdin have been making them for years, and while they are great to use, a lot of users are put off by their relatively low output compared to a traditional 1×1 panel light. There is still very much a place for flexible LED lights, particularly for travelling shooters who need to keep gear to a minimum. You may well love the idea of owning an RGB light, but if you sit down and ask yourself “Do I really need one?” the answer is probably going to be no. While RGB lights offer a lot of versatility they are still for the most part, large, heavy, power hungry, and expensive. Flexible LED panels were all the rage a few years ago, but now RGB lights have become the latest must-have lighting tool. Install Audition via Adobe Creative Cloud app.Ģ. City generator: creates part of city automatically. The general pipeline uses a top-down approach and can be extended from each part. Our project will mainly focus on the shape part of the average building in Venice but not the landmarks which usually require special attention while modeling. In this project, we are going to randomly generate the Venice building models and provide users with convenient controllers as many as possible using Houdini, with VEX scripts and some visualized nodes. Procedural modeling is an umbrella term for several techniques in computer graphics especially in geometry processing to create 3D models by sets of rules. 3.1 Classification of Venetian buildings.Otherwise, we may get lost in adjusting every little thing while programming the procedural method. It’s noted that manual work on details is still necessary to create a more realistic model. In this project, to experiment with a more efficient way of creating the rough buildings and even the city by a procedural modeling way, we propose a building pipeline that can handle any shape of footprints and generate a reasonable simple building. Maybe that's one of the reasons that in recent years, we have seen many movies and computer games whose settings are in Venice cause a stir, for it usually requires a prodigious amount of work to replicate common Venetian architectures, not to mention the complex palaces and churches. These architectural elements collaborate and are always in harmony even they came from very different ages. Because of the centuries of development and cultural communication, Venice architecture has formed its unique style, which absorbed the symbolic features of Gothic, Byzantine, Renaissance, and Baroque styles, making it almost impossible to identify only one style on the existing building. Meanwhile, lots of artists also drown themselves in recreating these architectures by various works of art to enhance the sense of immersion and reality. Venetian buildings are the gems of the history of architecture, attracting researchers to explore the trajectory of style evolution assiduously. While Weiser is working to teach his native Yahooskin dialect to his 26 grandchildren and has led programs at local schools and community centers, he faces constant challenges, he said, including lack of money for such programs. Weiser lives in Chiloquin, Oregon, and is a member of the Klamath Tribes. But Thornes continued to work on language preservation with Weiser’s grandson, Steve Weiser. Thornes’ early collaborator, Irwin Weiser, died in the 1990s. “I want to do my part to make it easier for communities to connect to their own history as told by their elders.” “When material is in an archive, it’s often not searchable,” said Thornes. The samples include documentation from their own field work in those communities and materials that had been sitting on archive shelves – in some cases for more than a century – gathered by linguists and linguistic anthropologists in the past. Thornes and co-editor Maziar Toosarvandani from the University of California Santa Cruz included samples from nine distinct Northern Paiute communities in their volume. Speakers of Northern Paiute are native to the high desert region that stretches from what is now South Central Idaho and Eastern Oregon across Northern Nevada and into Eastern California. The volume is a supplement to the International Journal of American Linguistics (University of Chicago Press) as part of the journal’s Texts in the Indigenous Languages of the Americas series. He has co-edited a volume, Northern Paiute Texts Across Varieties, containing transcribed, translated and analyzed oral narratives in Northern Paiute. Twenty-five years later, here I am,” said Thornes, an associate professor of linguistics in Boise State’s Department of English, and one of just three American linguists who specialize in Northern Paiute. “I volunteered to do what I thought would be a great summer project. He partnered with tribal elder Irwin Weiser to write a book including greetings, the names of plants, animals, colors and more. The Klamath Tribes in South Central Oregon were looking for someone to write a beginners phrase book for the Yahooskin dialect of Northern Paiute (Yahooskin is one of three groups comprising the Klamath Tribes). Tim Thornes was a linguistics graduate student at the University of Oregon when a chance project set the course of his studies for decades. I have Kronos right now and i am feeling left behind without Omnisphere. I would still miss Karma even if i spent the same on an Omnisphere centerd rig as i did on my Kronos. And you still end up having to buy a good keybed/controller to interface with and control Omnisphere. Or do you get a lot more for your money if you get a Laptop for half the cost of kronos and then get Omnisphere, a DAW for advanced sequencing and maybe software drum machine for patterns like Kronos drum track and Karma has.? Oh. Do you get a lot more for your money in Kronos at the cost of Kronos? Flexibility of hardware behind Omnisphere. Or you can decide to run it on lesser hardware that will still at minimum be more powerful than Kronos internal hardware. You can decide to run Omnisphere on a quad core i7 or i9 with 32gb RAM. Kronos PCU cannot stand up to the Omnisphere recommended hardware and system requirements. Omnisphere does at least 16 velocity layers if you want it to.Įven though it only has an 8 layer combi section compared to kronos 16 layer. Although, I would not give up my full 16 timbres just because the polyphony cannot keep up with them. The extra 8 are only good to have for advanced midi work and using Karma or making 16 velocity layer combis which are not really any more functional than 8 independent velocity layers. I virtually have only 8 functional timbres in Kronos even though 16 are available. Truth is that when you get to powerful sounds like what Omnisphere pushes, kronos would hardly hold up to 8 layers deep before polyphony issues stop the stack depth. Each layer holds a patch that can be 4 layers deep itself. Omnisphere has its version of Combi mode, but only 8 layers. Also the synth engines emulated by omnisphere are being topped by omnisphere with added features of parameters or control options. Omnisphere is now very well emulating far more synth engines than Kronos does and offers a more dynamic controller setup scheme. Kronos 9 synth engines are great and impressive among synths of any calibre, but the combined stack of what each kronos synth engine can do, seems to be exceeded by what Omnisphere can do. Omnisphere has taken sample based synths to a whole new level that Kronos can not keep up with in current form. Is fairly common but not available in Kronos. Just per patch, Omnisphere goes places Kronos does not. So they are going to overlap with commonalities in that sense. This one's been made by Mike Conway, a regular contributor to this forum, that gives some idea of the versatility of Kronos.Īnd another, more relevant to the original question:īoth different things that just so happen to strive to tap into the best of the synth world. Omnisphere doesn't have Karma, but it offers a much more straightforward graphical approach to effects and modulations so, arguably, better able to mangle/manipulate sounds, especially when coupled with the recent hardware integration in Omnisphere. Last edited by voip on Fri 6:08 pm edited 1 time in total I will post the link if someone else doesn't beat me to it.īear in mind, Kronos' sampling capability means any sound that Omnisphere can make, can also be made to come out of the Kronos. Someone recently made a YouTube video comparing Kronos' synthesis capabilities with another well respected dedicated synth. Omnisphere doesn't have Karma, but it offers a much more straightforward graphical approach to effects and modulations so, arguably, better able to mangle/manipulate sounds, especially when coupled with the recently introduced hardware integration in Omnisphere 2.5. Last edited by voip on Fri 5:36 pm edited 1 time in total Most of Omnisphere's complex sounds begin with already complex soundsources, acted upon by a variety of effects so, if Kronos had those same complex soundsources, it wouldn't take a huge stretch of imagination to assemble the necessary effects chains, LFOs and DMOD sources and come up with something largely similar, or would it? The sounds Omnisphere can make could largely also be made by the Kronos. It's like comparing apples and oranges, in many ways. Making beats is not a hobby it's a life style Does not me its not possible to use less with similar results. Then, seek out a style you're interested in, find a local barber, book an appointment and get the look you've been yearning for - or something close to it. Tailoring a style to your face shape, aesthetic, activities and schedule requires assistance from a trained barber. That means the haircut your favorite athlete wore last week won't look identical on you - or your friend or your father - and especially so a week or two after it's cut. "If you keep it really short, two to three weeks if you keep something medium length, three to five and if you have a longer look, maybe it's five to seven or even longer." He also offers his opinions on how long you should wait between appointments. There's no such thing as one-size-fits-all for this," Rob McMillen, co-founder of NYC barbershop Mildred, tells us. At that point, you're not necessarily discussing very strict terms in regards to texture, length or whatever it may be, but it's more so trying to look at that photo, see if it works with that person's personal style and then tailoring something to them that's going to be close. "A photo reference, whether it be some cuts you've seen (from a celebrity standpoint) or just looks you've seen on social media, can be a really great jumping-off point. Bring the photo with you but be ready to make adjustments, albeit minor. Look at yourself in the mirror then at your photo reference yourself in the mirror again the haircut once more envision it all over again. Before you go bald or commit to billowing layers, think about it a little more simply. Others are quick yet irreversible decisions. Some styles take months - if not years, depending on how fast your hair grows - to achieve. The good ones stick around and the bad ones are blips. But look around, men's haircuts aren't that different from person to person, and switching styles isn't rocket science. Minimal research - aka a quick Google search - reveals millions of ways to wear your hair. Unless you're forced to abide by rigid grooming regulations – a la the military, although they've since adapted their code to include ponytails, buzzcuts and dreadlocks - there's no sense in limiting what your hair can look like. Using a classic style like a crew cut as the foundation, for example, one can tweak it a little to add edge or skew conservative. Starting points abound and can act as a way forward toward your desired haircut. Publications suddenly proclaim the current moment the era of the upright bob - that's a fake haircut, but indulge me - and you're left wondering, "Why doesn't my hair look like that?" or "How do I even ask for that?" Stop that. No matter the hairdo, it seems they can do no wrong. They'll leave with a gravity-defying haircut you envy, fetching camera-wielding paparazzi along the way.Īnd don't get me wrong, the captured celeb looks great. Although the core styles haven't changed much since the early 20th century, icons aplenty can shift and reshape the status quo with a simple visit to their high-end salon. And the anxiety involved in switching styles overwhelms even the coolest cat. You're here because you need a haircut, right? I get it. Kinsey’s findings were also based on the sex abuse of children by pedophiles. Based in part on interviews with incarcerated criminals, prostitutes and pedophiles, rather than normal, healthy members of society, Kinsey claimed his findings applied to the general population. However, it is now widely known that Kinsey’s research was fraudulent. Kinsey’s “research” has also been widely used to liberalize laws restricting sexual behavior, to reduce punishments for sex offenders, and to promote masturbation, premarital sex, and homosexuality, among other things, as healthy and normal. The false philosophies on human sexuality that were developed based on Kinsey’s “sex research” have provided the foundation and rationale behind today’s comprehensive sexuality education programs that teach children of all ages they have a right to sexual knowledge and sexual pleasure. He believed his research would change all of the gender and sexual norms of society. Kinsey set out to prove that children are sexual from birth and that promiscuous sexual behaviors of all kinds are prevalent in society among all ages and therefore are normal and healthy. In 1947, Kinsey, now known as the father of the sexual rights revolution, founded the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University to conduct “research” into human sexuality.
